Heating systems can cause the air inside the room to dry out. Dry conditions are bad for stuffy noses and allergies. Here are some ways you can humidify a room when you do not have a humidifier available :
- Hang wet clothes on a drying rack inside the room. You can also place a fan behind the drying rack to spread the vapor. You can use a few wet towel and wet them repeatedly as they dry out.
- Grow some indoor plants.
- Place wide metal bowls with water near heating vents.
- Boil water and pour it in a wide shallow bowl and leave it open in the room. Be cautious and put the bowl in a safe place to avoid burns.
